Personafile [i] links: spread the word about your products.
[i] links are simply web links to products in your Personafile. [i] links come in several forms, all of which are easy to include on web pages or send around in email. [i] links can be used for a variety of purposes in a variety of forums. For example, [i] links can be used in blogs that discuss products; or [i] links can be used in classified listing forums (e.g., craigslist) to provide instant, graphical "ad copy". [i] links link to products in your Personafile, so if you personalize your product venue (e.g., adding publically viewable pictures, documents, notes, etc.), users clicking on your [i] link will see your specific content additions. In their simple form, [i] links are just URLs like: http://personafile.com/Apple-iPhone-8GB-P885909100178.htm But [i] links also can be represented graphically in a variety of forms. Here are some examples: An [i] link to an Apple iPhone:

Creating and Using [i] links
Creating and using [i] links is a very simple process. (You will need a Personafile account. If you do not have one you can sign up on the personafile.com home page.)
On the left side of the [i] link editor are the [i] link output forms. The first output form is a simple URL that can be readily pasted into various webpages (using their page editors). This is useful for websites that do not allow rich HTML additions. The next two forms are HTML formats–the graphical [i] link forms. The first box of these, titled HTML text, is the text form of the [i] link's HTML. Most webpage editors will accept this form. The second box, titled HTML, is the final HTML output form; some webpage editors (e.g., Google's gmail editor) and email editors (e.g., Microsoft Outlook) will allow pasting of the HTML directly (and cannot accept the text form of the HTML). Whatever form you choose, simply clicking in one of these three boxes will automatically select the contents of the box. All you need to do at this point is copy the content to the clipboard (CTRL-C). 4. Once on the clipboard, you can directly paste the URL or HTML where you wish it to appear (a webpage editor or email editor). When you open the [i] link editor, the default [i] link HTML is displayed. However, you can customize it in several ways:
To customize your [i] link, simply add a title or description and check either/both show my public images and show Media Library images by using the editor controls on the right side of the [i] link editor window. Then click Apply. New HTML will be produced and placed in the HTML text and HTML boxes on the left. You can use the HTML box to visually inspect the result of your edits.
FIGURE 2 If show my public images is not available (grayed out) it is because you do not have any public images loaded in your Personafile product venue (see "How to Add Public Images" below for instructions on how to add your own product images to a Personafile product venue). If show Media Library images is not available (grayed out) it is because this product does not have Media Library images. Cool Things about [i] links
[i] link Stats [i] links are more than just simple hyperlinks to a Personafile product venue, they include tracking statistics. Most [i] links will tracks both views and visits. Views are user visits to the web page where the [i] link is placed; visits are clicks on the [i] link, resulting in the display of your Personafile product venue. The My Profile page in your Personafile account will summarize [i] link views, as well as, details each [i] link visit. You will see the city and state/province/country of each visitor, as well as, the visitor's IP address (for privacy reasons the last part of the IP address is obscured). If you click the [i] link icon in the Visit summary, an [i] link Stats window will open (see below). This window can be kept open and will refresh every so often to present new information.
FIGURE 3 The [i] link Stats window will show view and visits stats, including unique viewers/visitors and the view/visit rank. In addition, placements are shown. These are the various webpages where this [i] link is placed. [i] link Points
In addition to view/visitor stats, each [i] link visit (click) will credit your account 10 points. (Repeated clicks from the same IP address are filtered out.)
When an Internet user clicks on your [i] link and he is not a Personafile user and then joins Personafile, you will receive 500 points and this new Personafile account will be linked to your account (thereby contributing future points to your account based on his various Personafile actions). When an Internet user clicks on your [i] link and he is a Personafile user, you will get 15 extra points if the Personafile user chooses to add that product to his Personafile. So if you're into gathering points, [i] link placements are a quick way to earn points fast! [i] link Attribution
When an Internet user clicks on an [i] link and chooses to place that product in his Personafile, the product venue's header in his Personafile will contain an attribution link back to the original webpage where the [i] link was found. For example, if you choose to include an [i] link on your blog, all users who add that product to their Personafile account by first clicking that [i] link will maintain a backlink to your blog.
How to Add Public Images
Adding public images to a Personafile product venue is simple. Public images are simply notes of type Product Image and then set to Public. The iPhone product venue shown below (see Figure 4), contains 5 notes, 4 of which are product images and publically viewable.
FIGURE 4 When a user encounters an [i] link to this venue on the web and clicks on it, he will see all of the public notes (see Figure 5), outlined in blue. Other notes marked private are not shown.
